By Jon, Co-Founder & Director, Advanced Physio & Sports Injury Ltd
When people ask why we chose to open Advanced Physio & Sports Injury in Royton, the answer is simple: this is home.

I was born and raised in Royton, and like many people who grow up here, I have always had a strong connection to the community. Over the years, I’ve seen the incredible resilience, hard work, and determination of the people who live here. I’ve also seen the challenges many face when trying to access high-quality musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation. Too often, people are left waiting for treatment, managing pain for months, or accepting limitations that could often be improved with the right support.
That was something I wanted to change.
A Different Path into Healthcare
Unlike many clinic owners, my professional background wasn’t in healthcare. However, everything changed when I witnessed first-hand the life-changing impact that expert physiotherapy and rehabilitation can have on someone’s life.
Working alongside Ali Musa Butt opened my eyes to what truly exceptional musculoskeletal care looks like. His clinical expertise, patient-centred approach, and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes showed me that rehabilitation is about far more than treating pain. It’s about restoring confidence, rebuilding independence, and helping people return to the activities they love.
Seeing those transformations inspired me to become part of creating something different.
Building More Than Just a Clinic
From the very beginning, our vision was never simply to open another physiotherapy practice.
We wanted to create a modern rehabilitation clinic where clinical excellence is at the heart of every decision. A place where patients receive the highest standard of care, supported by evidence-based treatment, advanced rehabilitation techniques, and clinicians who genuinely care about long-term outcomes rather than short-term fixes.
Just as importantly, we wanted to build an environment where talented clinicians have access to the facilities, equipment, and support they need to deliver their very best work.
Because when clinicians thrive, patients benefit.
Investing in Royton
Bringing Advanced Physio & Sports Injury to Royton means far more to me than opening a business.
It’s about investing in the community that helped shape who I am.
Our goal has always been to ensure local people have access to premium private physiotherapy and rehabilitation without travelling miles to larger cities. Whether someone is recovering from surgery, managing persistent back pain, returning to sport after an injury, or simply wanting to move more comfortably, they deserve access to exceptional care close to home.
We’re proud to be creating a clinic that raises expectations of what private musculoskeletal healthcare can be.

Looking Towards the Future
As Co-Founder and Director, I oversee the operational development and strategic growth of the clinic, ensuring we continue to invest in our facilities, our team, and the experience every patient receives.
Together, Lee and I share one clear ambition: to redefine the standard of private musculoskeletal rehabilitation across Greater Manchester.
We want Advanced Physio & Sports Injury to become recognised not only for outstanding clinical outcomes but also for innovation, professionalism, and genuinely putting patients first.
This is only the beginning.
